How did you get to Telluride?

I moved to Telluride in 2009, after finishing my first rafting season in the Grand Canyon. I asked a co-worker (who was wearing a very faded red Lizard Lounge visor) what do raft guides do for work in the winter months when their jobs on the river are over & he replied, “Go to Telluride man!” So I did minimal research, found housing, a job, packed my 84’ Subaru DL4 to the brim, and moved to Telluride on a whim! It was love at first sight & I have been here ever since!

What is your astrological sign?

Leo Sun | Bold & Proud

Leo Moon | Expressive, Idealistic & Loyal

Pisces Rising | Imaginative & Sensitive

What brings you the most joy?

I love being outside in the sun with my dogs, hiking, alpine dirt bike rides, witnessing and embracing change, & the feeling of love & kindness.

Who or what influences your teaching style?

I have been a bodyworker for 17 years and I absolutely love continuing my education. Yoga, bodywork, wellness, nutrition… all of it! My many teachers over the years have shaped who I am in my teaching style.

How do you apply practice to your life?

I apply it in the way I think, the way I react & respond to others, through compassion and forgiveness, and the way I do everything is essentially practice. I am forever a student in this practice of life!

About Sarah:

I love moving slow, steady, & with intention in almost everything I do. I am a purist in teaching Sivananda Yoga (Hatha), as it’s where my practice started. I have also been trained in Kaiut Yoga Method, as well as some Ayurvedic Yoga. I have had a Thai Yoga Massage practice in Telluride for 9 years & take pride in my work. I love seeing change in a students practice or a clients body; sometimes instantly & then more so over time. Having the ability to bring movement, renewed energy, & life back into someone is a gift I am grateful to hold & excited to share!

What to expect from a practice with Sarah:

With a massage therapy background you can expect intention in every posture, movement, flow, & sequence. I love structure in how a class unfolds and similarities in each class from week to week. This allows my students to find a meditative state in their practice; to be present without judgement in a posture and feel Metta (loving kindness) is the ultimate goal.
